Aims: The aims of General Studies are to help students better understand themselves, the society and the world, and to help them become a caring and considerate person who is concerned about the surrounding environment. To foster a healthy personal development and to become a confident, sensible and responsible civil citizen. To understand one’s roles and responsibilities both at home and in society and to concern about one’s welfare. To strengthen the sense of national identity and to contribute to the nation and the world. On the other hand, to foster an interest and curiosity in science and technology and to understand the impacts brought to society by the development in science and technology. |
2. | Objectives: The objectives of General Studies are to help students achieve a balanced development in knowledge, skills and attitude: |

2.1 | To understand one’s growth and development, to develop a healthy lifestyle, to respect oneself and others and to value the harmonious interpersonal relationship. | |
2.2 | To understand the development characteristics and future potential changes in the local communities and in other districts of Hong Kong. | |

Care about the family, the Hong Kong society, China and the whole world. | |
2.4 | To build an interest in studying the scientific questions regarding the material universe, the use of energy, species, the earth and the space. And to develop the enquiry, inquiry and answer-searching skills. | |
2.5 | To build an interest in exploring the world of technology and to know how to apply technology during activities in a creative way and to solve simple problems in the daily life. | |
2.6 | To understand that there may be possibly negative impacts brought by the development in science and technology to the human society and to build a sense of responsibility for the protection of the environment. |
