The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens[2024.04.12]

On 25 March 2024, the NCS (Primary) group went to the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens to learn Chinese outside of school. They first learnt about different animals, plants, logos and signs in group lesson. When they arrived at the park, they read the map to plan the route, and took pictures with their iPads according to the learning content, e.g. flowers, monkeys. They read and searched for the Chinese characters on the signs, and looked for the logos for toilets or exits in order to apply their language skills in everyday life. After the trip, they reported about the activity in Chinese, supported by the photos they had taken. The students have gained a lot from the activity as they were equipped with prior knowledge before the trip. The presentation also boosted their confidence in using Chinese to communicate.
